The Graduate Diploma in Business is designed for students who variously:
have previously taken business studies and who seek to increase their knowledge and skills in a specific area of business specialization
have not previously undertaken an administrative studies degree and who seek a foundation in business fundamentals as a basis for the development of a career in management. This program prepares students from a variety of academic backgrounds to step forward confidently in their careers as administrators and managers.
Program duration is typically one to two years. Often students can select from a variety of learning options including full-time or part-time study, day or evening classes, independent learning, distance education and correspondence delivery.
While the Graduate Diploma in Business is typically offered as a stand-alone qualification, it may also be a component of (articulated) integrated programs that enable students who complete the diploma to apply for entry to an MBA or other master's in management program.
Admission to the Graduate Diploma in Business program typically requires a 4-year degree or community college diploma (two year program or longer). In some cases applicants may be required to take the Graduation Management Admission Test (GMAT) and participate in an interview. Preference is often, but not always, given to applicants with related business experience.
